Privacy policy
How InHand handles your data: calculations run in your browser, we keep no record of your figures, and the page address carries your inputs so results can be shared.
Last updated
InHand is a salary calculator. The short version of this policy: your salary is calculated in your browser, and we keep no record of it. There are no accounts, no sign-up and no database of salary details.
What happens to the figures you enter
Every calculation runs as JavaScript inside your browser. Your CTC, allowances, rent, deductions and the results are not sent to us as data. They do appear in the page address, as the next sections explain.
What is stored on your device
To save you retyping, the calculator keeps your most recent inputs, your advanced-mode settings and your light or dark theme choice in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device, is never sent to us, and is deleted when you clear your browser's site data. You can also use the calculator's reset button to clear it.
The page address contains your inputs
As you type, the calculator keeps your inputs in the page address (the part after the ?), so a result can be bookmarked, reloaded or shared and still show the same figures. That has two consequences:
- When you reload the page or open such a link, your browser requests that address from our host like any other, so the figures in it reach the host's servers and may appear in its request logs. We do not collect or analyse them.
- Anyone you send the link to, and any service that sees it along the way (a chat app or email provider, for example), can read the salary figures in it. Share links only with people you are comfortable showing those numbers to.
Exports
PDF and Excel files are generated in your browser and saved straight to your device. They are not uploaded anywhere.
Hosting and server logs
The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as IP addresses and browser type in order to deliver pages and protect against abuse. It includes the page address requested, which carries your calculator inputs when you reload the calculator or open a share link. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
Analytics and cookies
InHand does not currently use analytics tools, tracking pixels or advertising cookies. Fonts and icons are served from this site, not from third-party font services.
Advertising
We may show advertisements through Google AdSense in future to keep the calculator free. If we do, this section will be updated before ads go live. In that case:
- Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and learn more at How Google uses cookies in advertising.
- Advertisers never receive the figures you enter into the calculator.
Children
The calculator is intended for working adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Your rights
Because we do not collect personal data about you, there is nothing held by us to access, correct or delete. Data stored in your browser is under your control and can be removed at any time by clearing site data.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top.
